-ENERGY OFFICE The notice of the proposed renewal of the facility license in this docket was published in the Federal Register on August 1, 1980 (45 FR 51320), and set September 2, 1980 as the final filing date for petitions requesting a hearing. As of this date no such petitions have been received.

By petition dated August 27, 1980 the Energy Office of the State of New York (" Energy Office"), while explicitly indicating that its petition is not a request for a hearing (Petition at 2), seeks to participate as an interested state under 10 CFR H 2.715(c) in the event a hearing is held j
