Dear Mr. MacDonald:

w It was recently noted that a clerical error occurred in the process of finalicing the consolidated license renewal application for the Model 51032-1 and -la packages.

In particular, on April 4,

1980, Table 7-1 and Section 12 of X':-52, Revision 1 were amended to increase the aut;borized enrichment of Type AA fuel elements frca 3.3 to 3.5 wt.%

Subsequent changes to that document, while retaining the I

results of analyses which demonstrate the gety of the package cor.-

enrichment value of 3. 3 wt. % 'jo 3. 5 wt. %

(Summa" reac-tivity data given in Table 12-XV is correct for 3.5 wt.% "35U enriched Type AA fuel.)

Although later changes necessitated re-pagination of Section 12, all of 4

the information submitted on April 4, 1980 was subsequently included ir, later revisions. Consequently, there does not appear to be a need to reference the submittal of April 4, 1980 in the Certificate of Ccapli-ance.

(It is not presently referenced.)

Also, the table of authorized package contents given ir. item 5(bb3gf Certificate 6581 accurately implies an enrichment of 3.5 wt.%

U for Type AA fuel. Actual speci-fication of various fuel element parameters, however, occurs via foot-note (a) of that table wherein reference is made to Table 12-XIV of the i

consolidated application.

It appears, therefore, that no changa in certificate of Compliance 6581 is needed to correct the clerical error.

Rather, the only correction that appears to be necessary is to incor-

porate the correctly revised Table 12-XIV in all copies of XN-52, Revision 1.

Consequently, enclosed are eight (8) copies of the replace-

ment Table 12-XIV (page 12-35) for inclusion in your copies of document XN-52, Rev. 1.
