Dear Mr. Youngblood:
The purpose of this letter is to cocument information providea to your staff relative to issues as yet not formally resolved in the LaSalle County Station Safety Evaluation.
The two specific areas addresseo in this letter are NUREG-0737 Item II.F.1 relating to Post-Accident Monitoring Instrumentation, and Item II.K.3(21) relating to Restart of HPCS.
The information previously provicea the NRC staf f informally is documented below.
1.
Additional Accident-Monitoring Instrumentation (II.F.1)
In a telephone conversation with Mr.
A. Bournia et. al. on February 24, 1981, it was indicated, in response to an NRC question that related to II.F.1 Attachment 4 Clarification (4), that the system at LaSalle County will provide continuous display and recording of the containment presure over the specified range in the control room ano that the recorcers are in operation curing normal plant operation and are calibrated over the full instrument range so that scale ranging is not required.
This clarification will be documented in a future amendment to the FSAR.

Restart of Core Soray Systems (II.K.3(21))
In a telephone conversation with Mr.
A. Bournia and T.
Collin on Feoruary 20, 1981, it was indicated that for LaSalle County Unit 1 the HPCS restart logic shall ce modifiec to provide for automatic restart notwithstanding h.

-o l the continuing existence of an-initiation signal (i.e.,
drywell hi-pressure).
This modification will be consistent with that discussed in Section L.34-13 of the LaSalle County FSAR as a discretionary modification proposed by the l-BWR Owners Group.
The modification will oe-implemented on the schedule defined in NUREG-0737; i.e.,
at the next refueling outage following staff approval of,the design, unless this outage is scheduled within 6 months of the approval date.
Section L.34-13 of the FSAR will be modified to. reflect this commitment.
