0 7590-01 UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION DOCKET NO. 50-318 BALTIMORE GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENTS TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (the Commission) has issued Amendment No. -31 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-69, issued to Baltimore Gas and Electric Company, which revised Technical Specifications for operation of the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Unit No. 2, located in Calvert County, Maryland. The amendment is effective as of its date c' 'ssuance.
The amendment authorizes Cycle 4 operation at the licensed power leve'. of 2700 Mwt with:
e A slight increase in fuel enrichment to allow for a longer operating cycle; e Modified (sleeved) guide tubes for.he control element assemblies (CEAs), and e Use of a new reactor protection system trip to protect the core from the steam generator transients.
The amendment revises the Appendix A Technical Specifications to incorporate changes resulting from _the detailed analysis of the Cycle 4 reload core.

-01 The application for the amendment complies with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Commission's rules and regulations. The Commission has made appropriate
- findings as required by the Act and the Commission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment. Prior public notice of the amendment was not required since the amendment does not. involve a significant hazards consideration.
The Commission has determined that the issuance of this amendment will not result in any significant environmental impact and that pursuant to 10 CFR 551.5(d)(4) an environmental impact statement, or nc tive declaration and environmental impact appraisal need not be ed in connection with issuance of this amendment.
