J. Rausch letter to J. G. Keppler dated December 29, 1981-

Dear Mr. Keppler:

The Commonwealth Edison Company review conducted in accordance with the subject bulletin disclosed that eight (8) of the i

suspect valcor Engineering Corporation solenoid valves have been supplied as solenoid operators on Anchor / Darling valves at Byron and Braidwood Stations (4 per station).

These solenoid valves are not i

subjected to high temperatures, therefore we do not expect to encounter the problem described in the bulletin.

It is our intent-to replace the coils in these solenoids-with new coils supplied by valcor.

Replacement will be completed

~

l prior to-commencing operation (the current schedule is to have-replacement completed by April 16,-1981).

I Approximately 18 man-hours were e'xpended in conduct of the l

review and preparation of this report.

The manpower required to j

replace the coils is estimated to be a total of 20 man-hours.
