ATTN:

M. Hersch Gentlemen:

This is to inform you, in accordance with the requirements of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Act, that the NRC has not completed licensing action on your export license application XSNM01700 for 35 grams of Uranium-235 to Switzerland for use in quality control audits (your reference number FE-20162).

Final NRC licensing action has been delayed because of the need to clarify certain issues concerning how the requirements of the Atomic Energy Act are satisfie I with respect to exports to Switzerland.

Information on this matter is being obtained frem the Executive Branch.

Please be assured that the staff will act expeditiously on your license application upon resolution of these issues.

Sincerely, Ja.
