SUBJECT:

SUINARY OF MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 16, 1980 A meeting was held in Bethesda, Maryland with representatives of LILC0 and TERA.

The purpose of the meeting was to perform a preliminary evaluation of LILCO's organization for managing and operating the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station. A list or attendees is provided in Enclosure 1.

The nuclear organization at LILCO was recently changed. Mr. Pollock was named Vice - President Nuclear with overall responsibility for engineering, con-struction, licensing, startup testing, and operation of the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station. The new organization is shown in Enclosure 2.

The managers under Mr. Pollock each gave a presentation on their organizational responsibilites.

As a result of these changes, Section 13 of the Shoreham FSAR is beino revised and will soon be submitted for review by the NRC staff. This review will be in accordance with the guidelines for licensee qualifications setforth in NUREG-0731. An onsite review of LILC0's organization and management qualifica-h tions will be performed prior to completion of construction of the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station.
