Dear Mr. Helfrich:

Enclosed please find a letter from Texas Instruments Incorporated requesting an amendment to export license XB000985 to increase the quantity of tritium authorized for export by an additional 100,000 curies, as tritium gas contained in glass-sealed light sources, each containing a maximum of 200 millicuries.

Before taking action on this amendment request, we would appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures, as to whether the proposed export meets the applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 as amended by the Nuclear Nonproliferation Act of 1978.
