Thermal llydraulic LMFBR Safety Experiments 1.1_llydrodynamic Characteristics of Two-Phase Dispersed Systems (T. Ginsberg, J. Klages, Y. Sanborn, G. Zimmer; J. Chen, Lehigh Univ.)

Analysis of the data from the preliminary hydrodynamic dispersion tests was initiated.

Computer sof tware modifications were implemented in order to carry out the analysis.

1.2 HCDA Bubble Energetics (T. Ginsberg; J. Moszynski, Univ. of Delaware)

A final draf t of the report " Liquid Entrainment by an Expanding Gas or Vapor Bubble - A Review of Experiments and Models" was prepared. Typing of the report is near completion.

1.4 Fuel Relocation SL. dies (G.A. Greene)

Preparation of a final report, subsequent to transmittal of & draft to NRC on 7-1-80, continued.

1.5 Heat Transfer in Internally Heated Boiling Pools (G.A. Greene and S.M.

Reilly, MIT)

Experiments were performed to measure the temperature and pressure profiles in volume-boiling pools. Flow regimes investigated were bubbly, transition, and churn-turbulent.

The data is presently being analyzed to determine void pro-files, saturation profiles, and boiling inception.

1.6 Transition Phase Technology Assessment (G.A. Greene and T. Ginsberg)

Preparation of a final report, subsequent to receipt of critical reviews from DOE and LASL, continued.
