20555 Re:

PIONEER DECOMMISSIONING OF HUMBOLDT BAY POWER PLANT - NUCLEAR UNIT

Dear Sirs:

The Humboldt Bay Nuclear Reactor unit owned by P G S E is presently off line.

This plant may become the first commercial nuclear power generating facility in the United States to be decommissioned.

As representatives of the people of Humboldt County, this Board of Supervisors must be concerned that Health and Public Safety be protected.

We believe you share our concerns and wish you to know we anticipate cooperating fully with your agencies in the event the Humboldt Bay Power Plant is decommissioned.

Early consultation among all responsible agencies is earnestly solicited.

incer y,

DANNY WAL Chairman DW:bjn V,\\0.so e
