MEMORANDUM FOR: FILES u[
SUBJECT:
STAFF FINDINGS RELATED TO THE PROPOSED IMPORT OF g 9
21,600 KILOGRAMS OF LOW ENRICHED URANIUM FROM GERMANY O
BYEXXONNUCLEAR,INC.-ISNM800$9 Exxon Nuclear Company, Inc., submitted an application dated December 2, 1980 for a license authorizing the import of 21,600 kilograms of uranium in the 2 and U 08, enriched to 2.95%, from West Germany.
form of UO 3
The material will be transported in CE-250-2 containers, IAEA Certificate of Competent Authority No. USA /9022/AF.
The import of low-enriched uranium in its various forms has been assessed many times in the past. This proposed import is essentially the same as previous imports and represents no material change in circumstances from conditions and findings which existed at the time of the earlier imports, for example, ISNM78020, ISNM 79019, and ISNM 80007.
The staff finds that this import will not be inimical to the Comon defense and security, or constitute an undue risk to the public health and safety or to the l
environment.
