This is an interim response to I.E. Bulletin 80-21 which concerns

valve parts that were supplied by the Malcolm Foundry Company, Inc. and did not meet specified hardness requirements. The bulletin requested a response by January 2, 1981.

We have contacted all fourteen (14) vendors who have supplied Nuclear grade valves for Zimmer Station to determine if Malcolm Foundry Company, Inc. parts were used 1.1 their manufacture.

All fourteen (14) venders have responded verbally that no Malcolm materials were used in Zimmer Power Station Products. As soon as confirmation of their statements is obtained from all vendors, we will submit our final report on this Bulletin.
