Subject:
I&E Bulletin 80-11, Masonry Block Walls
References:
P-80198 P-80381
Dear Mr. Seyfrit:
The following is a supplement to Public Service Company of Colorado's 60 day and 180 day responses to IE Bulletin 80-11.
The 60 day response (P-80198) to I&E Bulletin 80-11 indicates a total of 57 Masonry Block wills that have the potential of affecting Class I equipment during a seismic event.
The 180 day response (P-80318) to I&E Bulletin 80-11 states that 65 Masonry Block walls were analyzed and reevaluated as to their ability to withstand a seismic event.
The difference in the totals (57 vs. 65) is due to the fact that 8 additional Masonry Block walls were identified on a follow up inspection that had the potential of affecting Class I equipment during a seismic event.
The follow up inspection was made at the request of Mr. Dickerson, the Senior NRC Resident Inspector at FSV, and was made after PSC's 60 day response to I&E 80-11.
However, none of the eight walls identified in the follow up inspection required reinforcing.
Very truly yours, f
