PROPOSED IMPOSITION OF A CIVIL PENALTY - 54,000 e
This is to inform the Commission that a Notice of Violation and a Fbice of Proposed Imposition of a Civil Penalty in the amount of Four Thousand Dollars'will t[e' issued on or about December 1 9 1980, to Comr:onwealth Edison Company. This action is based on an alleged item of noncompliance relating to the shipment of waste material from the Cresden Station which when received at the Richland, Washingt90 burial site was not packaged in a strong, tight package and the lid on one bin was not bolted dov.;
and was easily removed. A news release has been prepared and will be issued about the time the licensee receives the Notices. The State of Illinois will be notified.
It should be noted that the licensee has not been specifically informed of the enforce-ment action. The schedule of issuance and notification is:
