SEQUOYAH HYDROGEN CONTROL PROGRAM Our preliminary evaluation of your December 1,1980, response to our requests for infomation is seriously defic.ient o'n five issues that n' ed your imediate e
attention to ensure timely resolution of the hydrogen control matters on Sequoyah.
These deficient issues, as discussed with your staff and contained in the list of requests for information,' are (1) temperature profile for equipment surviv-ability. (2) local detonations and pressure profiles on the shell-interior walls, (3).CLASIX modeling of ice bed heat transfer, (4) Combustion phenomenn particu-larly the number of ignitors and H2 burn setpoints, and (5) Combustion in the air return for system.
Further coments will be provided in the next few days.
Other portions of your response are knowingly deficient because they are depend-ent upon the resolution of the above five issues.~ In addition to the previously requested infomation, we suggest that you prepareiTechnical Specifications and l
procedures necessary for the use of the Interim Distribution Ignition System and submit them for our review.
Please provide a schedule for the completion of all items deemed necessary to

meet the January 31, 1981 mandate from the Comission. We suggest a series of i
review meetings be established to coincide with the time you believe that one or more issues are substantially conpleted by TVA. The purpose of the meeting would assure that your submittals fullfill our. meed,~ and also expedite the review process.
