7590-01 UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION DOCKET NO. 50-271 VERMONT YANKEE NUCLEAR POWER CORPORATION NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMEN 0 MENT TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission (the Comission) has issued Amendment No. 60 to Facility Operating License No. OPR-28, issued to Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Corporation (the licensee), which revised the license for operation of the Vemont Yankee Nuclear Power Station (the facility),
located in Windham County, Vemont. The amendment is effective as of the date of issuance and is to be fully implemented within 30 days of Comission approval in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 73.40(b).
The amendment revises license condition 3.G to include the Comission-approved Safeguards Contingency Plan as part of the Physical Security Plan.
The licensee's filing complies with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Comission's rules and regulations. The Comission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Commission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR l
Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment. Prior public. notice of the amendment was not required since the amendment does not involve a significant hazards consideration.
The Comission has detennined that the issuance of the amendment will not result in any significant environmental impact and that pursuant to 10 CFR 551.5(d)(4) an environmental impact statement or negative declaration and environmental impact appraisal need not be prepared in connection with issuance of the amenP ent.
