Re: Programmatic Environmental I= pact Statement (PEIS) for TMI Unit 2 The recent formation by the Nuclear Regulatory
.Co= mission.of a citiren's advisory panel on the TMI cleanup and by EPA of an independent scientific review of the preliminary environmental impact statement are encouraging signs that the Federal govern =ent is moving to alleviate public suspicion about the 'AMI clean-up.
To maintain this policy of openness, it is essential that the period for public review of the PEIS be extended.
I urge you to make-sure that a " revised draft" PEIS be issued at this time rather than a final version.
