At aporoximately 2:35 a.m. on December 12, 1980, UNC Naval Products received an anonymous phone call which stated that a "bomo is located in the East Plant and will go off at 0800 hrs."
The voice was that of a male who hung up a.fter making the above statement. Two searches of the area have been made'by the : licensee and no bomb has been found. As a precaution the UNC Crisis Management Tam evacuated the East Plant at 7:00 a.m.
The East Plant will remain evacuated until 9:30 a.m., December 12, 1980. The IAT has been notified. The licensee notified the State and local police.
Region I will notify the FBI. The State of connecticut will be notified.
This preliminary notification is issued for information and no further action by IE is anticipated.
No press release is planned by the licensee or the NRC at this time.
NRC Region I (Philadelphia) received notification of this occurrence from the H00 on December 12, 1980 at approximately 3:12 a.m.
