DELAY IN PREPARATION OF THE LASALLE CCNTROL ROOM DESIGN I
REVIEW SER INPUT

i The scheduled DHFS control room design review SER input for the LaSalle County I
Station Nuclear Generating plant has been delayed from November 14, 1980, to November 28, 1980. The principal reasons for this delay included delays in completion of the final report and HFEB internal review, and a subsequent one 6
and one-half week postponement of the licensee /NRC review meeting. The first delay can be attributed to the team leader's absence on travel; without per-sanal attention, reports languish in typing, reproduction and review. The i
second delay is attributed to our schedule for site visits; team members are only available two weeks out of three, which restricts scheduling of licensee /
NRC meetings.
The control room review was completed on September 19th, and a preliminary l
draft report w0s typed, reviewed with the LaSalle team, and submitted to CRESS j
for final typins on September 29th. A copy of the preliminary draft report, marked up with team member corrections, was submitted for HFEB review on September 29th. Pertial HFEB review was completed on October 7th, and correc-tions were submittei to CRESS. Corrected pages were returned from CRESS shortly i
thereafter. No furtt er HFEB action was taken on the corrected document until the team leader returred from travel on October 20th. The recort was then com-pleted and submitted fe DHFS signature on October 21st. Absence of several team members during the eek of October 27th (to conduct the Susquehanna control room review) prevented a 'icensee/NRC meeting during this week, and the next available date satisfactory to all parties was November 6th. This is a three-t week delay in the scheduled date of this meeting. We hope to make up one week of this delay and to transmit the SER input to DL by November 28th.
