STATUS REPORT - ON SITE INTERVIEWS On August 14-16, Harry S. North, Task Group 4, SIG, and I interviewed 10 Radiation Chemistry Technicians employed by the Metropolitan Edison Company (Met Ed) at Three Mile Island (TMI), Pennsylvania. On Tuesday, August 21, 1979, we will return to the TMI site to complete the initial interviews of the Met Ed Radiation Chemistry Section.
The main lines of questioning for these interviews deal with the Utility's Emergency Plans and Response; Radiation Protection Staff and the interface with NRC.
Below is my standard line of questioning.
(In each interview case, the depth and extension of my questioning is contingent upon the answers received.)
- 1) In general what contact did you have with NRC:

b) If an interface did exist, was it a:
direct working relationship ?
casual conversation ?
c) What are the names of the NRC people you dealt with?
d) Can you describe your interface with these people? Specifically, by:

a) Did NRC try to coordinate their H/P effort with yours? Vice versa.
b) Were your results submitted to NRC?
If so, how? To whom? When? Specifics?
c) Were NRC's results submitted to you? Specifics?
d) Did NRC make an effort to compare their results of surveys, samples with yours?
e) For off-site monitoring, did NRC coordinate with you the selection of geographical locations?
- 4) Were you ever ordered by an NRC representative to:
take a sample, survey, reading?
b) How about being asked by an NRC representative? Specifics?

- 5) Perception of NRC:
