TMI - 2 ACCIDENT RESPONSE PARTICIPATION Ref:
R. C. DeYoung Memorandum of June 6, 1979 As requested by the referenced memorandum, I am herein providing a breif de-scription of TMI - 2 Accident Response activities that I participated in. The tasks are as follows:

Coordination between several NRR technical branches, the NRC Incident Center

For the period April 7-20, 1979 I participated as a member of the F 'i Tech-nical Review Group based in Trailer City at the TMI - 2 site. The review Group's function was to review the safety aspects of the modifications being made to the plant for achieving long term cold shutdown. Modification's re-g viewed and the Review Group's evaluation is described in Appendix B of NUREG-4a 0557. Specifically I was assigned within the Group to review the design of 9/7 mechanical components and their supports, i.e. piping, pumps, valves, and vessels.
