The Affirmation is SECY 80-479, a request for 9
stay of a policy statement by the Union of Concerned Scientists, 10 et al.
The Commission has unamimously approved an order which 11 indicates that the Commission by a 2-2 vote has denied the 12 requ st for a stay by the Union cf Concerned Scientists of a 13 recently issued NRC statement of policy entitled, "Further 4

15 The order, which has been distributed to you today is a one page order.
It has attached to it the separate views of Chairman Ahearne and Commissioner Hendrie.
Additional views of 18 Chairman Ahearne, separate views of Commissioner Gilinsky, separate views of Commission Bradford.
Chairman Ahearne and 20 Commissioner Hendrie would deny the request.
Commissioners 21 Gilinsky and Bradford would grant the request.
