(Um. H. Zimmer Nuclear Power Station, Unit hi. 1)
Docket No. 50-358 Gentlemen:
In a Memorandum dated September 17, 1980, you inquired as to when the Staff would be prepared to go to hearing on the contention which challenges the Applicants' ability to construct and operate the facility. The staff finan-cial analysts are presently involved'on a full-time basis on the financial aspects of Three Mile Island.
We fully agree with the Board that it would be advantageous to hear separately and as soon as possible the financial qualifications aspect of this proceeding.
However, due to other commitments of.the staff financial analysts, we cannot l
now provide you with a meaningful schedule.
As the work load and other priori-ties permit, we will separately address the financial qualification issue including the Board's questions and, as soon as possible, inform you and all parties as to when the Staff could go to hearing.
Sincerely, i
Charles A. Barth Counsel 'for NRC Staff l
