Gentlemen:
In our letter to you of July 8,1980, we stated that our complete response to IE Bulletin 80-09 would be fonvarded to you by July 18, 1980.
- However, as a large number of subcontractors were involved in the procurement and installation of these actuators, some confusion has developed as to which contractor performed the actual sizing and selection of the six safety-related hydramotor actuators used on ANO 1 & 2.
Therefore, this informa-tion is unavailable to us at this time for your review.
We now understand that Bechtel, the AE for ANO-1 and 2, sent the specifi-cation for these actuators to ITT-GC and with this information ITT-GC did the selection of the actuators.
Presently we are in contact with ITT-GC requesting them to research their file to determine if in fact they did the selection of the actuators and if so did they take into account hy-draulic and friction forces.
ITT-GC informeo us that to accomplish this task they will need at least until August 11, 1980.
Therefore, our com-plete response to this Bulletin will be forwarded to you upon our evalua-tion of ITT-GC information.
This should be by August 18, 1980.
