' Directorate of Regulatory Operations - Region III U.S. Atomic Energy Commission 799 Roosevelt Road Glen Illyn, Illinois 60'137 Subject!% Dresden Station, Units 1 and 3, Docket Mos. 50-10 and 50-249 Regulatory Op~ rations Inspection Report c

No. 50-010/73-02 and No. 50-249/73-03 Pronrietary In formation.^.nnlientic-

Dear Mr. Gricr:

~=

In res'ponse to your letter of June 27, 1973 con-

~

-corning this subject, you are requested to handle certain portions of-your inspection reports as' proprietary informa-tion and withhold from public disclosure as permitted by Title 10, CFR Section 2.790.

4 Our contractor (General Electric Compcny) has determined the information in Report 50-249/73-03, Pages 17, 18and 19 concerning the Dresden Unit 3 fuel inspection is proprietary.

The information contained on these pages

~

is of potential benefit to General Electric Company competitors and should not be available to them.

General Electric has gono to great expense to develop fuel inspection methods which allow evaluntion and improvement of their designs.

These methods are nod, to'Gencral Electric's knowledge, presently available to their.. competitors.

The summary of fuel failure data on Pagcc 17-19 would provide competitors an unfair advantage; because similar data on their fuel is not available tJ General Electric.
