Dear Mr. Ahearne:
Up,a A

Subject:
Docket 50-2895P, TMI-Unit 1; pl' g
-J Middletown, PA
- .. f9,d On October 15, 1980, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission began proceedings to consider whether Metropolitan Edison Company shall be permitted to restart Unit 1 of Three Mile Island.
The shutdown of Unit 1, even though it was not involved in the accident to Unit 2 and suffered no damage, has increased the lost of electric service to Metropolitan Edison's customers unnecessarily.
I feel that it-is unrealistic and unreasonable to continue this extra unneeded burden on the utility and the ratepayers of Metropolitan Edison.
I urge you and the other members of the NRC to give prompt approval for placing Unit 1 at Three Mile Island back in service.
Very truly yours, M
