Mr. John F. Ahearne Chairman Comissioner
SUBJECT:
Docket 50-2895?
U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission TMI - Unit 1 1717 H Street, NW Middletown, PA Washington, DC 20555
Dear Mr. Ahearne:
The failure of the NRC to allow the start up of TMI-1 is bureauacy at its worst. My two-year-old thinks more logically.
If there are operators who are going to be well trained and vigilant, it will be those in control at TMI-1-it was operator error that wa= the main cause of the radiation release at TMI-2.
The public danger at Three Mile Island is from a delay in the cleanup of Unit 2-and you seem co be aggravating that danger by not allowing the utility to earn the money to move forward with that incredibly costly cleanup operation. Perhaps you want to see GPU go bankrupt so that government can :ake over the entire operation and have the taxpayer, rather than the utility, pay for the'. cleanup.
I urge you to move forward quickly to allow the restart of TMI-1.
Sincerely,
~
v-Eileen Davis W,
