%Il tg For years *Ae electric utility companies have been able to reduce rates to their customers by putting in new and :nore efficient electrical generators. The latest innovation has been the use of nuclear power.
Present stupid regulations of the use of nuclear power re-ninds :ne of some of the regulations that applied to the operation of auto:nobiles eightyt years ago. There is an article about *2st in the September 1980 Smithsonian Magczine.
Just because there are au+4 mobile, railroad and airplane accidents, who would want to go back to the horse and buggy age? Sven the horse and buggies had accidents.
The Three Mile Island Unit #2 accident was anfortunate. 3ut the industry learned from that accident how t' make and operate nuclear plants :nore safely. The M Unit f1 r ' sther like plants have been :nodified to be safer. All
