OCT 2 01980 m rev in pr !? 47 Docket Nos. 50-35?
and 50-353 MEMORANDUM FOR:

D. Sells, Project Manager, Licensing Branch No. 2, D0L
SUBJECT:
SUMMARY
OF MEETING WITH PHILADELPHIA ELECTRIC COMPANY A meeting was held on October 2, 1980 in Bethesda, Maryland, with Philadelphia Electric Company (PECo).
The purpose of the meeting was to allow PECo to present an interim status report on its risk evaluation study.
In addition the remainder of the schedule was tenatively established and agreed to by PECo and the NRC. A list of attendees is attached as Enclosure 1.
After brief opening remarks by Vincent Boyer, Senior Vice President of PECo, Roger McCandless of General Electric gave a presentation giving a summary of the work that has been accomplished to date and the current status of the study.
The vu-graphs used in the presentation are included as Enclosure 2.
At the present time Task I, Probability of Radioactive Releases, and Task II, Magnitude of Radioactive Releases are estimated to be 90% complete.
Task III, Consequences of Radioactive Releases is considered to be 40% complete. Additional technical input from Science Applications, Inc.
(SAI) should be completed by the end of October.
Allowing two weeks to review and utilize this information, PECo and GE believes they will be ready to provide a final briefing and sufficient backup material to permit the initiation of NRC review by mid-November. PECo agreed to propose such a date and NRC advised PECo that we would determine the location of this presentation.
Following that presentation PECo will proceed to put together a formal report covering the study effort.
Possible submittal of this final report with the FSAR was mentioned but a firm schedule will be proposed by PECo within the next two weeks.
It was agreed that PECo would submit an outline of the final report within one week.
It was also agreed that PECo would provide the NRC with a description of the materials that will be supplied to NRC at the November briefing in order for the NRC to make a judgement concerning the adequacy of the material to permit initiation of NRC review.
