Subject:
Degraded Grid Voltage Protection
Dear Sir:
The purpose of this letter is to inform you of a delay in the response to your letter, Ref erence (2). This delay is necessary as a result of the recent diversion of significant manpower resources to comply with the Commission Memorandum and Order, Reference (3). We anticipate filing a response no later than December 22, 1980.
Furthermore, while we share your concerns regarding degraded grid voltage conditions, and have worked diligently with the staff to develop an acceptable solution, some fundamental licensing issues need to be discussed. During recent conversations between our staff s it was agreed that further dialogue would be helpful to clarify our concerns, and we remain committed to a cooperative discussion on this subject at your convenience.
We trust this extension poses no difficulty; however, if you should have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Very truly yours, MAINE YANKEE ATOMIC POWER COMPANY f
