NRC STAFF'S THIRD STATUS REPORT I.
INTRODUCTION This NRC Staff Third Status Report is filed pursuant to the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board's (Board) Order of July 21, 1980.
II.
DISCUSSION Pursuant to Board Orders dated October 1 and 23,1980, Applicant on October 22, 1980, filed " Proposed Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law in the Form of a partial Initial Decision as to some Environmental and Site Suitability Matters."
The Staff, as provided in the above-referenced Board Orders,will file its proposed findings by December 2, 1980.
a On September 30, 1980, Applicant wrote a letter to Chairman Ahearne regarding allocation of Staff resources to concluding certain aspects of this proceeding.
Members of this Board and the other parties to this proceeding were sent copies 8031100k h
l' of the letter. The letter in question has not yet been responded to by Chairman Ahearne. Staff counsel will arrange service of a copy of the response when it is available to him, i
III.
CONCLUSION Counsel for the Staff will keep the Board advised of further developments as regards the subject matter of this Status Report and the previous Status Reports filed by the Staff on August 13, 1980 and September 30, 1980.
In any avtr.t we will file a further Status Report with the Board by December 31, 1980.
