Nuclear and Industrial Safety 67 Sandy Desert Road Uncasville, Connecticut 06382 Gentlemen:
This is in response to your letter dated October 31, 1980 which transmitted a request for exemption from License Condition 3.1 and 10 CFR 70.58(e) to receive and store three tamper-safed drums of SNM from UNC Recovery Systems without further SNM measurements.
We have determined that granting your request will not adversely affect the coamon defense and security nor the public health and safety and is othersise in the public interest. Accordingly, the following license condition is hereby added to Amendment MPP-1 of your License No. SNM-368, effective immediately, to read as follows:
Notwithstanding (the requirements of License Condition 3.1and 10 CFR 70 content of the three drums of SNM from UNC Recovery Systems referred to in the October 31, 1980 letter, the licensee may receive and ship this tamper-safed material without further SNM measurements.
