Dear Dr. Vuorinen:
I would like to take this opportunity to express my deep appreciation for the really outstanding hospitality that you extended to me during my visit, for your efforts in setting up the signing of the Arrangement, and for the very pleasant visit to the Loviisa nuclear station.
From everything that I saw, I believe you should be proud of an orderly and efficient nuclear energy program in Finland.
I was pleased to have the honor to sign the IRP-NRC Arrangement which formalizes the ccmmunication and cooperation channels through which our two agencies have exchanged regulatory and safety information.
It is another link in the aim of assuring the continued safe operation of power reactors throughout the world.
I was pleased to see you again in Stockholm and will look forward to your visit to Washington in a few weeks.
