19610 October 10, 1980 The Preside:>. of the United States, Washington, D.C. 20500 Mr. President; You have undoubtedly heard by now that the Pennsylvania Concressional delegation is looking into possible federal assistance for Metropolitan Edison Co.3d its customers.
This is to erase the gross financial burden of the Three Mile Island accident and its necessary cleanup.
The nation is benefitting from lessons learned at TMI and I feel the nation should help those of us affected by the resu-Itant financial burden.
Along with your support of federal grants, you could help ease the burden on the company and the customers by supporting Nuclear Regulatory Commission Action for the insnedh+1 m+=. d 'L"a4+ 1 to service. This would be a substIntial aid in relieving replacement power costs.
We in the Met-Ed service area are confident you will recognize our problem and support us as we have supported you. Thank you for your consideration and
