Dear Mr. Anderson:
By letter of December 20, 1979 to W. J. Ross you provided the NRC staff I
with certain information related to low-pressure turbine discs. Subsequently, in a letter of January 7,1980 to V. Noonan you requested that portions j
of your December 20, 1979 letter be considered as Westinghouse proprietary information and be withheld from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790 5
.j paragraph (b)(1). Additionally, you provided, by letter of January 30, 1980, a revision to Table III of Appendix A to the above referenced December 20, 1980 letter and you requested a 10 CFR 2.790 determination for this submittal also.
Subsequent to the NRC reviewing these submittals, a meeting was held, on April 3,1980, between representatives of the NRC legal and technical staffs and their Westinghouse counterparts. At the conclusion of that meeting the parties agreed that the NRC staff had no further need of the subject submittal and would return these documents to Westinghouse. This letter confirms the decision of that meeting. The official file copies of your December 20, 1979 and January 30, 1980 submittals are enclosed.
I have also directed all affected NRC personnel to destroy any copies of these submittals which were in their possession.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790 (b)(5) this letter completes NRC action on your requests for withholding these documents from public disclosure.
