Dear Mr. Keppler:

In response to IE Bulletin 79-03A, Public Service Company of Indiana, Inc. (PSI) has determined no SA-312 fusion welded pipe, subject to design stresses greater than 85 percent of the ASME Code allowable stresses, is planned for use in safety-related systems at Marble Hill.

6 However, per the guidance of Mr. D. Danielson of the NRC Office of Inspection and Enforcement, Region III, pump or tank nozzles and similar fittings should be considered within the sc' ope of this Bulletin.

Since the scope of review of Bulletin 79-03A will be expanded by this guidance, PSI will need additional time to complete the actions required by this Bulletin. PSI therefore requests an extension to December 15, 1980, to respond to this Bulletin.

Sincerely, l

S. W. Shields GAS /eg cc: Director of Inspection and Enforcement U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D. C.
