This is in reference to your September 25, 1980 letter concerning " drop forged lugs" which is required on the closure ring of the Model No. UNC-2600 packaging.

Your September 25 submittal does not adequately identify the type (or details of construction) of closure ring which you propose to use on the Model No.

UNC-2600 packaging. Also, the submittal does not show that the package, with the revised closure ring, would meet the requirements of 10 CFR Part 71 under top corner drop conditions.

Without information of this type, we cannot delete the requirement for " drop forged lugs" that is currently in Certificate of Compliance No. 5086.
