The purpose of this letter is to provide you with updated information in response to your request for information on February 25, 1980 cor.cerning potential turbine disc cracking. Our original response dated March 18, 1980 contained the results of site specific calculations in answer to Question I.D. of your letter. These calculations have been repeated employing a more sophisticated calculational model, which now accounts for thermal an<i steam bending stresses, and a revised correlation for calculating the crack growth rate. The results of these calculations are presented'in the Enclosures which constitute a revision to the data previously submitted as Table I.
This update has been designated as Appendix A (Proprietary) and Appendix B (Non-Proprietary) to our March 18, 1980 submittal.
The attached site specific response (Appendix A) contains proprietary information of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation. A copy of the pre-viously submitted Application for Withholding AW-80-1 dated March 14, 1980 and the associated affidavit is attached and is equally applicable to this new material. Accordingly, it is requested that the subject Westinghouse proprietary information be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with the provisions of 10CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations.
