...i Mr. Darrell G. Eisenhut, Director Division of Licensing Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555

Dear Mr. Eisenhut:

This letter is in reply to your October 1, 1980 letter concerning Environ-mental Qualification of Safety-Related Equipment.

Environmental qualifications of safety-related equipment purchased to date for the Perry Nuclear Power Plant has been delegated to the individual vendors. These vendors have used both outside testing laboratories, as well as "in-house" facilities. A considerable amount of this qualification testing has been completed. For instance, switchgear, load centers, and motors are complete with final test reports submitted for our review and approval.

Attached is a list of equipment presently undergoing qualification testing.

The qualification schedules for items noc included in this list have not been established, as yet. This list also includes the supplier, the esti-mated schedule and the location of the test. Where identifiable, the system in which the device will be used is indicated.

The contact at the PNPP for equipment qualification information is Mr, Edward Christiansen of my staff. If you have any questions, regarding this item, feel free to call Mr. Christiansen.
