Dear Mr. Batten:
This letter is in reply to your letter of September 3,1980, in which you propose that the NRC, in cooperation with the AIAA's Aerospace Technology Technical Connittee and other key organizations, support a multidiscipline workshop / conference between the aerospace and electrical pcwer communities. Since the Office of Research would nomally sponsor this type of effort, Chairman Ahearne has requested that I respond to your letter. My staff and I would be happy to meet with you to hear the briefing you proposed.
You may be aware that my off*ce co-sponsored a similar type of work-shop / conference with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in Washington, D.C. on January 15-17, 1980.
I am enclosing a copy of the program for your information. We are naturally interested in benefitting frcxn the experiences of the broadest representation from the other high technology areas.
If 9:00 a.m. on October 20, 1980, is a convenient date for you, I would be pleased to meet with you at our Silver Spring office.
