Browns Ferry unit:2 began a scheduled refueling outage on September 5, 1980. The inspection and examinations required by items A.1 and A.2 of IE Bulletin-80-07 vere performed. Pursuant to item A.3'we are providing the following report.
Ultrasonic examination of the jet pump holddown beams was performed by the General Electric Company (GE) employees on September 11, 1980, in accordance with GE procedure TP-508.0654, Revieion C.
This procedure is for BWR/4 jet pump holddown beams and is. equivalent to GE procedure TP-508.0642, Revision A, the procedure referenced in IE Bulletin 80-07.
The six-hour examination did not detect any indications in the holddown beams.
Visual inspe~ction of the jet pump assembly took place on September 12, 14, and 16, 1980. The jet pump holddown beams were inspected by attaching a camera to the bodendieck poles. The lower sections of the jet pump assemblies were inspected by lowering the camera by its power cable. The resolution of the camera was verified by observing 1-mil cracks on a metallurgical sample. The integrity of all jet pump assemblies was. verified.
On jet pump No. 1, a rough area on the surface of the inlet to the mixer was observed. This area will be checked during future inspections and does not compromise the integrity of the jet pump. The inspection of the jet pump assemblies tock.approximately 400 hours0.00463 days
0.111 hours
6.613757e-4 weeks
1.522e-4 months
.
