Dear Sir,
We are extre.nely disturbed about the continued rel u ses of radio-activity on the people of Pennsylvania. Contaminated water is dumped intodrinkingsupplies,kryptongasisreleasedinto-theair, strontium-}""'j solid wastes are put in unsafe containers, trucked 7
90 poisons our soils,
/"
and spilled on our -highways, then stored in temporary sites, to 'r7it~asay and poison countless future generations of ours.
Already evidence has begun to show high increases of hyperthyroidism, infant deaths and sti11 births. Cancer and many other maladies are to be expected in the near future.
Met-Ed's inability to control wastes and guarantee health is just another example of the mounting costliness of the nuclear industry and the promotion of the NRC.
This deplorablo situation centinues, with our soaring rate monies paying for power ccmpany propaganda and-construction. Meanwhile, solar development pleads for engineers who remain bound to nuclear power ccer panies.
Will you please use the tull pcwer of your voters' mandate to pro-mote development of the various solar technologies, and put a quick end to present nuclear insanity.
1 Sincerely, 1
