Dear Sir:

8.'

The Texas A&M University System, Nuclear Science Center, herewith submits a Quality Assurance Program for shipping packages as per the requirements of 10CFR71, Appendix E.

The shipment of unirradiated and irradiated fuels from our facility to repositories is necessary to obtain compliance with the requirements for the physical protection of SNM of low strategic significance.

We would like to make our first shipment of SNM no later than January 1981.

The earliest review and approval that is possible would be greatly appreciated as it would permit us to proceed with planned shipments of SNM.

If you have any questions please contact me or Don Feltz at 713-845-7551.
