Dear Sir:
In the above referenced letter, the Power Authority provided an updated status of fire modification implementation-and re-quested extension of the October 31, 1980 deadline.
Since the submittal of that letter, certain material and installation de-lays have occurred which have modified the completion dates previously provided.
The affected SER items are as follows:
a)
SER Item 3.2.1 - Fire Hazard Analysis (Structural Modifications) 1)
Motor Control Center Barrier - This modification was originally to be 100% complete by October 31, 1980.
This week, the Fit: Patrick site was informed that the spray valves will be delayed until October 29, 1980.
Consequently, completion of spray piping will not occur until mid-November.
Also, the shipping date of the fire door has been delayed from October 20, 1980 to December 19, 1980 by the vendor in order to incorporate design changes.
Final installation of the fire door will not be completed until approximately two weeks after arrival of this door.
Therefore, extension of the completion Oh date is requested to January 7, 1981.

Circular Stairwell - The referenced letter requested a completion date extension to December 15, 1980.
Significant problems have recently been confronted with rebar interference.
The full impact on the schedule is still being assessed.
The Authority's consultant has assigned a structural engineer to the site to help with this engineering problem.
Although i
at this time it is not believed a new completion date extension would be required, the December 15, 1980 l
date may hava to be changed in the near future.

SER Item 3.1.18 - Fire Detection and Signaling System I
SER Item 3.2.5
- Fire Door Supervision SER Item 3.2.6
- Signaling Circuits Supervision The referenced letter stated that on October 31, 1980 termination to the remote fire panel will be in progress for these three referenced SER items.
Additionally, the I
letter requested an extension of the completion date to December 15, 1980 based on a shipment date of the panel i
of October 18, 1980.
A recent factory visit conducted October 22, 1980 revealed that the fire panel is not com-pleted and probably will not be finished until mid-l November.
The vendor is working around the clock to support this shipment date.
Based on a shipment date of mid-November, the completion date for these items will be extended to at least December 31, 1980.-
c)
SER 3.1.17 - Total Flooding CO2 Suppression System -
Ventilation Systems The referenced letter stated this item will be completed by October 31, 1980.
Due to the requirement of the interlock having to be made in the new fire protection panel, and due to the new fire panel completion date of mid-November, this item will also be delayed.
A new completion date of I
December 15, 1980 is therefore requested.
