Operating License No. DPR-73 Docket No. 50-320 IE Bulletin 80-18 This is in response to the subject bulletin entitled " Maintenance of Adequate
'finimui Flow Thru Centrifugal Charging Pumps following Secondary Side High Energy Line Rupture".
We have reviewed the subject bulletin and detemined that further investigation may be necessary regarding the Make-Up and Purifi-cation system (MU). The MU system pumps perfom the function of the centrifugal charging pumps in the scenario addressed in the bulletin.
However, due to the Unit 2 facility being in the recovery mode with the MU system not being utilized for RCS inventory control, the concerns addressed in the bulletin are not applicable to this unit while in the present mode. Therefore, this bulletin is classified as a long-term action as defined in our letter of May 29,1980 (TLL 247).
