The information requested by you on October 23,1980, is attached. Stated in the reply are the results of the tests requested by the February 23, 1980 letter. The District considers the test which is conducted during each thermal heatup from cold shutdown as verification of proper integrity of the valve internals.
Three leak tests have been conducted and each measurement indicated zero leakage through the boundary valves. Although Rancho Seco has the valve configuration of concern, the piping arrangement to the Core Flood Tanks will provide prompt indication if degradation of the check valves occurs.
