Dear Mr. Ros enthal :

I have received Ms. Pulley's letter of October 10, in response to my request that you ask Mr. Farrar if he would be willing to resume his participation as a Board member on the remand of the seismic issues for the Seabrook plants.

\\

You indicated that because Mr. Farrar's new duties are extremely demanding, it would be " totally unreasonable" to ask him to sit on the Seabrook remand.

While I have no doubt that Mr. Farrar is extremely busy, I must say that I cannot see any unreasonableness in asking him if he wishes to participate in this case.

I never suggested, of course, that he be draf ted agains t his will.

Given his extensive familiarity with the issues and the very limited nature of the remand, his participation might not occasion such a great hardship as you imagine.

In any case, I am only asking that you make the request.

Under these unique circumstances, I believe that to be fully justified.

Very truly

urs, I'
