DCR/DCN Problem - Reference Unresolved Item 79-17-02.
Dear Mr. Fiorelli:
On Mr. Barrett's visit of August 14, 1980, we stated that we would provide the NRC with the status of the Design Documents which have 5 or more i
unincorporated interim changes (DCR/DCN's). The commitment to the NRC in this area was that by September 1, the number of Design Documents contain-ing 5 or more interim changes would be reduced to 150 or less. On Septem-ber 5, a report was received from Engineering which indicates that on that date,109 Design Documents contained 5 or more unincorporated interim changes. Of these 109 documents, only 88 are QA Level I (Safety-Related Documents). There are 928 open changes documented against the 109 docu-ments.
Work is continuing to reduce the number of documents containing 5 or more, even further, and to evaluate the impact of work covered by these docu-ments.
