DRESDEN 1 SAFETY VAL STRESS ANALYSIS By letter of March 21, 1973, Commonwealth Edison submitted an

=

analysis of stresses on Dresden 1 safety valves in response to an RO letter of April 28, 1972, and our letter of March 6,1973.

The analyses included dynamic loading and approximate seismic

==

stresses. Their analysis indicated that the highest calculated stress level is 13,750 psi vbich is beloa the allowable stress limit of 17,220 psi.

=

.7 I conclude that CE has performed the analyses and evaluations

~

requested, that qualitatively the analysis appears to be competently done, the results show that no problem exists and that no further action is needed.
