Dresden Station Units 1, 2, and 3 Proposed Appendix B to DPR-19 and DPR-25 NRC Dkts. 50-10, 50-237, and 50-249

Dear Mr. Rusche:

Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.59, the proposed Appendix B to Dresden Station Units 1, 2, and 3 is submitted.

This replaces the proposed Appendix B submitted November 4, 1974.

Dresden Unit 1 has been included in this submittal because Appendix B re-lates more ta a site rather than specific units.

The significant changes made to the proposed Appendix B include the following:

Sections 2.4 and 2.5 have been deleted.

Radioactive materials discharge and radioactive materials moni-toring are deceribed in Section 3.8 of Appendix A.

Sections 2.1.1.1 and 2 have been deleted based upon the results of over 1 years of sampling since sub-mittal of initial Technical Specification in Novemb,g A N

1974.

The sampling program demonstrated that fur);h N

chemical and bacteria monitoring was not necessa' go f\\

%g' Section 3.2 was deleted from Appendix B inasmuch as radiological environmental monitoring is discussed in Section 3.8 of Appendix A.

Section 4.1, dike surveillance has been deleted because the study to which it referred has been completed.

C::mm:nwnith Edissa Mr. Benard C. Rusche August 20, 1976 Section 4.3, algal bloom 02 depletion, has been deleted because it was without scientific basis and did not incorporate basic principals concerning blue green algae and algal blooms.

Section 3.1.2.4 describes a monitoring program to identify algal problems if they should occur.

Section 5 has been abreviated to refer to Section 6 of Appendix A for administrative controls.

Section 5.8.1, Subsection F, has been changed to re-flect an increase in blowdown from 50,000 up to 500,000 GPM in accordance with a current agreement between Commonwealth Edison Company and the United States Environmental Protection Agency for NPDES Permit IL 0002224.

The proposed change has received on-site and off-site review.

Three (3) signed originals and 37 copies are provided for your use.
